SUPERINTENDENT NEWS

Dear Families,
It is my hope this letter finds everyone in good health. I am writing to notify you of logistical operations as we move forward over the next three weeks. We recognize the need to continue to provide as many of the services to our students as possible during this unprecedented period of time.

The Amanda-Clearcreek Schools will be providing breakfast and lunches for our students, free, regardless of income status. Beginning Monday, March 16, 2020, we will have “Grab-and-Go” breakfast and lunch available to all students. Breakfast will be available for pick up from 8:00 AM to 9:00 AM, and lunch will be available for pick up from 11:30 AM to 1:00 PM. We encourage students to grab both meals at once. These meals are to be picked up at the 3-12 building. You will need to enter Door K on the west side of the building at the long sidewalk (high school student parking lot). We are not responsible for food allergy restrictions.

Beginning Thursday, March 19, 2020, we will begin delivering meals to your child, free, regardless of income status. If you would like to participate in the meal delivery option, a form will be sent today via text, and it must be completed by 2:00 PM Tuesday. That timeline allows us to order and prepare the delivery schedule. When you complete the form, we will deliver both meals each day during the closure at one time. Meals will only be delivered to those who have completed the form. Again, we are not responsible for food allergy restrictions. Deliveries will begin at 8:00 AM. The “Grab-and-Go” option at the school will not be available after Wednesday, March 18 due to meals being delivered. Please contact Kimberly Dum, Cafeteria Supervisor, with questions at 740-969-7450.

It is imperative that our students are aware that our school guidance counselors and staff members are still available to support them Monday through Friday from 7:30 AM to 3:00 PM. Please contact them via email or phone. All building phone numbers are located at the bottom of our web page.

All activities have been cancelled through April 3. This includes Grandparents’ Day, and it will not be rescheduled this school year. The 8th grade Washington, D.C. trip is on hold. World Strides, the 3rd party company that arranges and prepares our trip, has indicated they are studying the situation closely and will be letting us know very soon about their decision to move forward with the trip or to cancel it.

If your student is experiencing technical issues, please contact the school and dial extension 2017 or 2070 to reach our Technology Department for technical support.

Families who have ETRs or IEPs to complete: we will complete them remotely if possible. Otherwise, due to the necessity of meeting timelines, we will provide a space to complete the document with the six feet of suggested distance provided.

Prior to dismissal on March 13th, high school students who were willing to provide childcare services placed their name on a list. If you are in need of arranging this service, please contact the high school office at 740-969-7251. We will get your information to a student so they may contact you to make arrangements.

It is our hope that we have addressed the needs and concerns for our students. We continue to encourage your family to be doing the things they can to remain healthy.

If you have any questions, please contact me.

Sincerely,

J.B. Dick, Superintendent
Amanda-Clearcreek Local Schools
